In Among the Ducklings, romance author Marsh Brooks tells a story of old-fashioned love set in present day Miami. The story features Isabel Romero who is engaged to Richard Seyfert, but falls in love with Phil Pierce. Who will she choose? Richard is hiding a terrible secret, and he is rushing to marry Isabel because he knows that he has a better chance of keeping Isabel if she finds out only after the wedding.

Then there is Stacy Marshall, the model, actress, movie producer and also Phil’s ex-fiancée who, three years earlier, left Miami for a short two-week photo shoot in California but never returned to Phil or contacted him again. She is back in Miami, now a wealthy movie producer, and wants Phil back and wants to get Isabel out of Phil’s life. Stacy can’t tell Phil that leaving him three years ago was the best career move she had ever made, and that marrying a fellow actor right before he signed a big movie contract, and divorcing him shortly afterwards, was the best business decision she had ever made. Instead, she has to tell Phil a different story. If Phil believes it, Phil will come back to her. Getting Phil back is to Stacy like choosing which movie to produce. There has to be a good script. Stacy knew she had the right script for Phil. She had written it.

Stacy’s plan for Isabel is equally devious and ingenious, and she is following it perfectly, with great success. However, Stacy has one secret that can unravel her plan. Will that secret ever come out? Will Isabel and Phil’s love overcome these machinations?
